Code review & technical audit

Know what you have. And what it needs.

Before you invest in the next stage, get a clear picture of your code. We review your application and explain what is working, what needs attention and how to move forward.

A second opinion,
with a next step.

A working demo does not tell you everything about an application. The structure behind it affects how safely you can add features, handle customer data and recover when something goes wrong. A technical review makes those decisions easier.

We look at the code in the context of your goals. An early prototype and an established product need different levels of work. Findings are prioritised by their effect on your users and next release, with practical recommendations you can act on.

What we can help with

Architecture & maintainability

Review of the project structure, data model, dependencies and areas where changes are likely to cause regressions.

Security & access controls

Review of authentication, authorisation, sensitive configuration and how user data is accessed across the app.

Performance & release readiness

Check the critical journeys, slow operations, error handling and current deployment approach.

A prioritised report

An explanation of the findings, evidence from the reviewed code and a recommended order for fixes and improvements.

Should you improve it or rebuild it?

We compare the cost and constraints of keeping existing code with replacing specific parts. Sometimes the interface is useful but the data layer needs attention. Sometimes a focused refactor is enough to unlock the next feature.

The review gives you a basis for that decision. We define the areas and depth of review upfront; a code audit is not a guarantee that every vulnerability or defect has been found. Any specialist penetration testing or compliance work should be scoped separately.

How we move it forward

01

Set the questions

Agree the business goals, known problems and parts of the codebase to examine.

02

Review the application

Inspect the implementation and follow key user journeys through the relevant systems.

03

Explain the findings

Walk through the priorities and a proposed plan for fixing, extending or rebuilding specific areas.

Let’s scope the right next step.

Send a short description of your app and the decisions you need help with. We will agree a review scope before arranging access to the code.

We build products, too.

Serpstash brings search insights, competitor research and site audits into a single product. It is an example of how we turn detailed information into a useful, approachable application.

Your questions, answered.

Can you review AI-generated code?

Yes. We assess the behaviour and structure of the application, whether it was generated with an AI tool, written by hand or built using a mixture of both.

What do I receive from a technical audit?

You receive findings from the agreed review, their likely impact, recommended priorities and a practical plan for the next stage. The scope determines which areas are examined and in how much depth.

Do you also implement the fixes?

Yes. We can scope and carry out the improvements after the review, or provide the findings for your existing developer to use.

How much does a code review cost?

Reviews are quoted according to the size of the application, the areas to examine and the depth required. We confirm the scope and price before starting.
